This report, released by the Royal Society of New Zealand, breaks down New Zealand’s emissions into 5 categories (heat, electricity, buildings, industry, agriculture) and presents ideas on how to reduce emissions in each category. The report suggests that each category, with the exception of agriculture, has the potential to reduce emissions to zero over time. The report identifies effective forest and land-use as an effective short to medium term strategy to reduce emissions.
The report starts by giving an overview of the problem that climate change poses, and concludes by stating that a reduction in emissions will require behavioural changes across society.
MakeitRain will not attempt to emulate a report like this one, because we believe that with the right knowledge, people are able to draw their own conclusions about how emissions should be reduced. Everybody is in a different situation and will have different options that they are able to take.
